UNDER CONSTRUCTION – UPDATES COMING SOON

Yoga offers the opportunity to come home to your body, your heart, your mind, just as you are.  Stepping onto a yoga mat is an invitation into this moment, an opportunity to remember why you are called a “human being” and not a “human doing.”

pinkbloomsI have practiced yoga for over 28 years. My practice has offered me at different times a sense of grounding, growth, release, joy, and discovery.  My own curiosity and desire to deepen my personal practice, led me to become a certified Kripalu yoga teacher in 2006. I fell in love with teaching yoga and supporting people in befriending their bodies and discovering the many physical and psychological benefits of yoga. I have continued to pursue specialized yoga training including yoga for seniors, yoga for cancer and Elemental Yoga, a mind-body approach to yoga and yoga therapeutics, with a specific focus on yoga for anxiety, depression and insomnia. Additionally, I completed an 18-month study on the integration of mindfulness meditation and yoga through Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

Yoga Classes
In our busy world and busy lives it is easy to feel scattered and overwhelmed. The body offers a wonderful anchor back into the present moment.  I offer gentle yoga classes, well suited to individuals new to yoga, those recovering from injuries, or students seeking deep and gentle rejuvenation.  My classes are heart-centered, mindfulness-based and focused on celebrating every body’s capacity to move.
Private sessions
Develop the perfect yoga practice for your body and spirit’s unique needs.  Private sessions can be a great way to introduce yourself to yoga, or to deepen your study if you are a long-time practitioner.  Learn how to safely adapt poses to your body’s unique needs.  Get support in developing a personalized home practice or learn how to maximize your experience in group classes.  Feel free to give me a call to discuss how private sessions can enrich your practice of yoga.  I am happy to come to your home or to meet you at my office.
Yoga for Cancer
Whether you are newly diagnosed with cancer, or a longtime survivor, yoga for cancer offers a gentle and supportive atmosphere to build community and to learn to listen to and befriend your body as you navigate your experience of cancer at any stage.  Modifications are offered for all poses so that you can practice in a way that is most supportive of what your body and spirit need at any moment.  Group classes and private sessions available.  No yoga experience needed.

“Too often we practice by telling our body what to do. Today when you are on your yoga mat, spend more time in each pose listening to your body instead. Practicing requires listening to your body.”
